The company Laticínios de Celorico (Dairy products Celorico) has its origin in the former Lacticínios de Santa Maria, founded in 1962. With the shutting down of this company in 1992, after thirty years of production, there is a short lapse of time until the purchase of the premises in 1997, remodelling and recovering with new equipment and advanced technology used in the exploration of the activity.

Inaugurated on the 1 st October 1999, the company Lacticínios de Celorico assumes a family structure, with the management of Mr. Pedro Ferreira and Mr. António Ferreira.

More than cohesion, this family structure means know-how and a rigorous Quality Control given its large experience in the production and marketing of cheeses, an activity this family has always been linked to.

If tradition and knowledge are “parchments” the past is entrusted to bestow, the future is something one should start preparing in due time. Thus, the company Lacticínios de Celorico has environmental concerns which are being taken care of at the present moment and they include the minimization of pollutants and inclusively their reutilization, as is the case of the whey.
